Auto-fill email addressee not working for some frequent contacts - Microsoft Community


hello,

i have quite issues contacts:

  • when create email , start typing name in addressee list, contacts not appear. issue not exist on smartphone (android), on computers (any laptop or desktop, private or public), , happens regardless of browser (ie, chrome, firefox), os (windows 10, windows xp) , language. driving me nuts, because happens frequent contacts. , contacts exist in list of people!! work around issue need click on "to" , scroll down list , select contact(s)... every time!!!
  • i can no longer add these people lists (groups): names don't appear selected. , it's not possible other way round: edit contact , add list. there's no option that.
  • this issue may linked other issues had contacts. like: auto-fill displayed email addresses ever sent email or received 1 from. way long list!!! , list included old email addresses people changed addresses in past. spent hour or 2 "cleaning up" deleting them in drop-down list...
  • i don't seem able update names in drop-down list, although contact's name correct in list of people. particularly painful friends of mine, wife died. though renamed contact "bob smith", drop-down list keeps showing "bob & paula smith".
  • in contact details, quite fields (phone number and/or email address) greyed out, impossible remove or update fields. in case of bob, email address appears 5 times "personal", of 4 greyed out!

i've had hotmail account years (almost 20 years) , these issues appeared months or year or 2 ago, don't remember quite exactly. related hotmail becoming outlook? i've been googling these issues found no satisfying answer. please oh please assist me, i'm getting quite desperate!

outlook builds auto-complete list saving names , addresses of recipients in email messages you've sent. list grows, number of suggestions offered possible entries. resolve issue, please try following:

  1. check service health status of outlook.com here may server issue. it's possible mail servers may undergoing maintenance. if that's case, issue resolved automatically.
  2. update browsers.
  3. optimize browsers clearing cache, cookies, , browsing histories.
