MS Word table cells suddenly missing(!) after being merged - Microsoft Community


hi everybody, i've been using ms word since 97 release , yet first time i've encountered such problem.

when merge cells in table, new (merged) cell becomes unselectable , unclickable. here images of problem:

as see there no paragraph mark in new merged cell , if try select table happens:


it if there hole in middle of table. can't select it, can't right click on (nothing happens) , no matter what  mouse cursor arrow when hovering on spot.

now i've wrestled issue past 2 days , these observations:

- if table has 1 column, merging happens , , there no problem; problem rises when there more 1 column in table.

- if try merge cell in first row cells bellow, works fine. if cell in first row not 1 of cells i'm trying merge, issue happens.

- i've checked , there no protection or tracking changes or active.

- i've tried on both new document , old documents didn't have problem before, guess problem ms word , not settings of document.

- i've checked table margins , font size , set same value whole table, yet other cells ok exept new merged cell.

this strange , very annoying, i'd appreciate , suggestions.

yes, right.

the issue application. unfortunately repairing application didn't help. neither did uninstalling , reinstalling it. out site's admin had reinstall both windows , office fix issue.
