Unable to update the follow up flag status in Outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community

weeks now, have user unable follow flag status update. if close outlook 2016 , reopen show updated status.  have tried running outlook/safe - problem still existed , outlook/cleanviews - problem still existed.  follow flags working without issue user before upgrading outlook 2010 outlook 2016.  how can follow flags work again?  in resolving matter appreciated, thank you.

below general troubleshooting steps outlook. try 1 one , and check after each step

1. create new outlook profile rule out corruption in outlook profile. - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/...

2. type command in windows search box > right click on command prompt > run administrator > type "sfc /scannow" without quotes > run , when completes, configure outlook again.

3. repair outlook data files - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/repair...

4. there possibility add-in causing problem. rule out, start outlook in safe mode. hold ctrl key , click on outlook icon. don't leave ctrl key, till asks confirmation safe mode.

5. login windows new profile rule out problem in windows profile.

6. right click on outlook icon , run administrator.

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
