Missing emails - Microsoft Community

hi,

we have migrated our extensive email mailboxes office 365 exchange. appears emails prior year ago have disappeared.

whilst still have backup of data, don;t want re-import these files might disappear again.

there has been no archiving enabled. our workflow, need these files retained permanently.

can either recover or discover why files disappeared. 

we have since set data retention policy keep data 40 years, should mean data retained long enough now, why emails 1 year old dissapear?

to identify root cause of issue, i'd confirm following:

1. migration method use migrate extensive email mailboxes office 365? cutover, staged or hybrid? article reference: ways migrate multiple email accounts office 365

2. mentioned you've set data retention policy, may confirm did set up? on-premises or office 365 exchange? 

3. since migration won't affect source mail system. may perform migration again , check if issue can fixed.

hi we have shared mailbox shared user , want use tasks of shared mailbox not updating when make changes. there solution this? hi karabotladi, when shared shared mailbox user, did grant permissions him? if share task user, on permissions tab, in name box, click name of person access want change. under permissions, in permission level list, choose permission level. if share shared mailbox user, use admin account log exchange admin center > recipients> shared> select , double click it> mailbox delegation> add user full access list. regards, vanessa Office / Outlook / Windows 10 / Office 365 for business

Outlook 2016 for Mac - Multiple Issues, Error 17884 - Microsoft Community

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
