Divorce Outlook from Onedrive - Microsoft Community


installed office 365 on new win10 pc. put documents folder , outlook.pst on onedrive. several times day i'm told don't have access , email not populate. home pc , admin. want move them off onedrive pc. , leave way. know how manually move files i'm afraid there box check try put them back, re-sync, etc. can this?

#1 - default location onedrive "c\users\userid\onenote"

whereas default location outlook pst files

"c:\users\documents\outlook files

#2 - pst file created outlook or 1 moved location you? have no idea how outlook have created pst file in onedrive folder on own suspect there missing description

#3 - did not suggest setting onedrive location "c:\documents" - doesn't exist - documents folder under "c:\users\userid". aside, not want set onedrive root of documents folder siince include sub-folders underneath including outlook files.

#4 - have provided simplest instructions on how move pst file - if you're remotely concerned, instead of "moving file", can "copy file" new location have go outlook , change delivery location of pop3 account delivers email.

need following - outlook menu

--> file --> account settings
--> data files tab --> add pst file location copied "to"
--> set new pst file "default profile"
--> switch email tab --> highlight pop3 account
--> go bottom of window <change folder>
--> select <inbox> pst file copied new location
--> switch data files tab --> remove old pst file

going have change location of pst file regardless of approach use since it's matter of <if> , not <when> pst file corrupted. stated, active pst files configured in current outlook profile not supported used on onedrive
