Word for Mac crashes whenever I select the navigation Pane button - Microsoft Community

i purchased , installed office mac. trying select text in format , change different format. according online help, should select view click navigation pane button access advanced select features.

unfortunately every time click navigation pane button, word shuts down error message. how fix this?

first, collect following information:

1. please perform clean startup determine if other programs interfere word.
2. screenshot of office version using. please make sure use latest version. update office, click > check updates/
3. subscription using? e.g. office 365 home.
4. did download office? office 365 portal or product key?
5. os version using.

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
