Emails being deleted - rules being ignored - Microsoft Community


an issue has developed outlook account whereby emails being randomly moved deleted items folder.

last thursday advised me they'd sent me email i'd not seen it. therefore sent account had , assumed they'd not sent it.

on saturday night received email them read. when went reply on sunday morning, email in deleted items folder. along numerous emails i'd not seen (including 1 they'd sent originally). have checked settings , can confirm:

  • there no rules in place doing this
  • i have not chosen ignore emails in conversation
  • it happening across access devices

any ideas???

please use the get-inboxrule cmdlet view inbox rule in mailbox. 

get-inboxrule -mailbox joe@contoso.com (this example retrieves inbox rules mailbox joe@contoso.com.)

please note: 1, need assigned permissions before can run cmdlet. see permissions need, see "inbox rules" entry in recipients permissions topic. 2, connect exchange online using powershell before running cmdlet

 

please contact admin make sure there no related transport rule deleting specific emails.

 

in case access mailbox , delete these emails, please change password , check if helps

 

if issue persists, please provide followings further analysis:

 

are these emails being deleted same account or have common features?
