Multipe resource columns by specifying - Microsoft Community

hello there,

i guess these kind of questions have passed multiple times can assure i've searched days answer!

there 1 poule of resources, fine. except keep controllable make different resource fields. 

for example fill resources idea owner, business analist, architect , product owner. offcourse it's possible click of these people per task in field "resource names". problem there list of 100 persons. specified/ preselected list of persons example "architect". these persons 'pile up' in resources fine!

the reason you've searched "for days" , haven't found answer won't able want, project isn't set way.

you can indeed put resources groups (i.e. idea owner, business analyst, etc.) using resource group field on resource sheet, won't able isolate groups when assigning resources on gantt chart view.

however here's idea may make task lot easier. if each of 100 individual resources belongs 1 of 4 groups , assignment not specific individual can cut total resource list 4 instead of 100. example, let's 10 of individual resources in "idea owner" group , need assign idea owner resource task don't care of 10 individuals assigned, whoever assigned member of idea owner group. in case instead of naming 10 individuals idea owners, create 1 resource called "idea owners" max unit level of 10. if there 35 individual business analysts, create "business analyst" resource max unit level of 35. use similar scheme other 2 resource groups.

if reason care particular idea owner, business analyst, etc. assigned individual task, i'm afraid you're going have put selecting full set of 100 resources. still able identify group resource part of displaying resource group field in gantt chart or task usage views.
