No sound for audience - Microsoft Community

we have skype business installed on our conference room computer has external mic , connected large format monitor display.  have usb camera connected computer.  computer wired our network 100 mb connection has been testing , confirmed.

we able make video , voice calls other skype business users unable hear them.  hear fine.   we've tested end user devices , mic records locally fine.

we noticed recent post using 'normal' skype app vs. using skype business program , tried no difference.   there occasional sound coming through leads me believe simple setting. we've tried audio settings within skype tools too.

any great.

hi east conference,

thanks post, based on description, understand unable hear other skype business users in video , voice call, can hear you. if have misunderstanding, please correct me.

if can’t hear other participants, problem either 1 of microphones, or playback device.

  • make sure correct device selected

  1. on lower-left side of skype business main window, choose audio device settings.
  2. if want use different devices audio input , output, choose custom device. selection opens separate drop-down menus speaker , microphone.
  3. in speakers drop-down list, choose t playback device want use. if have computer’s built-in speakers, you’ll see 1 option in drop-down list. if you’re using headphones or external speakers, make sure choose correct option.
  4. choose play icon test speakers.

  • make test call

  1. on lower-left side of skype business main window, choose audio device settings.
  2. click check call quality

if can hear voice on test call, audio working fine. problem might participant's connection or microphone. if can, ask participant whom can’t hear review guide solve microphone issues.

if can’t hear voice on test call, continue these steps check audio settings in skype business.

  • check windows settings.

  1. make sure speaker volume isn’t muted , high enough hear it.

the volume slider control system default playback device. if have multiple playback devices, skype business might using different one. change volume other devices, right-click loudspeaker icon , choose playback devices. right-click device skype business uses , choose properties. on levels tab, use slider control adjust volume.
