Word needs such a long time to open - Microsoft Community

i have macbook pro (mid 2012) , office 2016. have problem word (and every other office program) needs more 20 seconds until opens. deleted normal.dot file, don't have anti-virus program , tried solve re-installing it.

it sucks , driving me nuts... it takes long start???

i hope has solution!

there few primary contributors slow launch of mac office programs. although other possibilities exist might see if either of these pertain;

  • having left mac running days without restarting. often, restarting mac restores performance,
  • use of 3rd party add-ins, such citation programs, os utilities such activities clipboard or font management, keyboard enhancement, etc.,
  • inclusion of start-up macros/vba routines in normal.dotm template,
  • font issues

for latter, use os x font book app validate & resolve duplicate fonts. remove current versions of duplicates found, restart mac.

Outlook 2016 for Mac - Multiple Issues, Error 17884 - Microsoft Community

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
