Outlook 365 freezes when opening any calendar entry with an attachment - Microsoft Community

doesn't matter sent calendar invite, if has attachment, freezes outlook when trying open , need force close , restart. frustrating. of time, if attachment in invite, needs opened entry.

in our test, when can open calendar attachment smoothly no matter open calendar in “mail” or “calendar”. narrow issue, please check below:

 

 

1. you can go outlook web app check whether can open same calendar attachment in outlook. if can, issue may due outlook client, can check below.
2. about last version outlook, can check this. if not using latest version outlook, please update it. open outlook->click file->go office account->click update options->click update now. for further help, can provide version outlook us.
3. please try open outlook in safe mode determine whether issue caused add-ins app in outlook.

if can open calendars attachment in safe mode, please try disable add-ins.

 

if issue persist, may know kind of attachment in calendar can’t open? such word in calendar, excel in calendar, or other kind attachment. , tell kind of sender send calendar invitation  you can’t open? such sender in organization or external sender.
