Outlook 2016 new account setup fails - Microsoft Community

microsoft changed in outlook 2016.  when add new account getting different process.  in new process, cannot change username used log email account.  i using cox email account , login name account username (full email address less domain *** email address removed privacy ***' portion of address).  when going through new setup window, outlook not let me change login username , instead uses full email address email server reject.  

how can account setup using name portion of email address?

have cox imap account setup , functioning in outlook 2016, deleted , re-created it.  new interface and it want use full email address user name, however, sets ok , looking @ account after setup finished, have user name, not whole email address, in appropriate spot.  have tried letting setup email account , see if works?
