it seems account set-up wizard in outlook has changed following update.
it used when set new account account , chose "manually configure server settings" option , "imap" see following.

with new wizard, asked first enter email address , check box "let me set account manually", choose account type (imap in case) , see following screen.

the problem outlook wrongly assumes username account same email address , there no place change it. when click 'connect' prompts username , password, , username field contains email address - if change correct username reverts using email address again.
so in position whereby none of our customers able add imap email accounts supply them, because unable enter correct username anywhere.
is there way around this?
it bug on latest office update. still, know more issue. please clarify following:
- do have office 365 subscription outlook?
- which build and version your office 2016 on?
