Wrong encoding in skype for business notification and history - Microsoft Community

hello,

i have office 2016 , 365 account , haven't had issues months. after last office update have issues skype busienss notifications , history written in cyrilic, shows encoded , not readable.

my office version 1707 build 8326.2052, skype business 2016 mso (16.0.8326.2052).

if open such message conversation history , change encoding utf-8 become readable, still not correct encodings in it.

so far haven't managed undersnand how fix it.

please let me know should fix or how can uninstall latest updates. in past possible unisntall office update, i'm not able find how.

before revert office click-to-run installation, should disable automatic updates. make sure don't miss future updates, set reminder manually check future versions. when new version becomes available, , if new version doesn't exhibit same issue experienced earlier, should re-enable automatic updates.

create reminder re-enable automatic updates. can in microsoft outlook, on outlook.com, or using application has calendar.

to install previous version of office 2016 click-to-run, follow these steps:

1. open elevated command prompt window. this, click start, type cmd in start search box, right-click cmd.exe, , click run administrator.
2. determine bit level of operating system.
3. use following 1 of following commands:

• "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\clicktorun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.8229.2103

        or

• "c:\program files (x86)\common files\microsoft shared\clicktorun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.8229.2103
