word says there error preventing word working , word needs closed repair. every time hit repair refuses work.

instead of clicking repair button in dialog box, try starting repair manually control panel. open file explorer, paste control panel\all control panel items address bar , press enter. open programs , features applet, locate office, click change , choose online repair option. see https://support.office.com/en-us/article/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b.
