junk email - Microsoft Community

my inbox in outlook 2016 has started filled junk emails. have not changed settings.

if you're seeing increase in junk mail, there number of ways reduce amount of spam lands in inbox. please see details below:

1. share email address people know.avoid posting email address on social networking site, in large internet directories, , in job-posting websites.
   
   
2. ignore junk email or instant messages.
   to empty junk email folder:
   in navigation pane, select junk email > @ top of screen, select empty folder.
   
   
3. choose junk email filter
   if outlook.com identifies message possible junk email, may automatically move junk email folder. malware potentially malicious software or code disabled.
   
   to change level of junk email filtering, select settings  settings > options > mail > junk email > filters , reporting.
   
   
4. block content unknown senders.
   

• at top of screen, select settings > options > mail > junk email.
• select filters , reporting, , under block content unknown senders, select block attachments, pictures, and links not in safe senders list.
