Archiving - Online/Inline Archiving - Microsoft Community

i'm wondering best way go archiving emails free-up space in inbox.

• if enable online archive under exchange, default mrm retention policies come effect.  can have own policies - i.e. instead of default 2-years archive emails, 3-years.  on rolling date emails archived.  
  
  if want archive emails in years in folders under archive i.e. 
  
  1 jan - 31 dec 2015
  1 jan - 31 dec 2014
  
  better manual archiving , teach staff if want archive emails year
  

• will turning on online/inline archiving make outlook app on windows 10 or on ios devices worker quicker?

there many causes make app run slowly. example, large volume of messages in inbox can slow synchronization mailbox server, may try export old emails .pst file in computer.

or have add-ins, can use following instruction manage add-ins.

 

1. click file > options > add-ins.
2. select add-in type.
3. click go.
4. select add-ins add, remove, load, or upload.

 

and may know archiving decide turn off mentioned means online archive mailbox or archiving in retention policy? after turn off, message coming mailbox won’t archived, , archived messages, still exist in folder chose when assigned policies.
