have employee receives new email notification pop on desktop, not receive email in inbox directly. running office 365 (2016) on windows 7 pro. if clicks different folder, , goes inbox, email shows up. however, no amount of time spent waiting in inbox produces email. have tried updating inbox via send/receive button, not produce email either. issue started week ago. have uninstalled office 365, , reinstalled it. information able provide may, or may not related, had opened lotus notes right before issue began. opened notes , made sure not set default application email. thoughts, or suggestions?

based on description, exclude add-in causes issue, please run outlook in safe mode: open outlook in safe mode. if issue disappear, says add-in causes issue, please disable them 1 one find cause out.
if issue persists, please update add-ins check issue. also, please confirm whether issue occurs on outlook web app (owa) his/her office 365 account, , let know result.
