accepted solution says answer "initialize onedrive", doesn't how that's done. i did search on "initializing onedrive", , found there talking initial setup of onedrive on new computer. i've been using onedrive year now, , don't want cause issues. does have pointers on how should proceed? thanks!

the issue you're experiencing onedrive app may due corrupted update file. according link provided, rajoo reset onedrive resolve same issue. steps on how reset onedrive, please refer article. follow steps under reset onedrive. if issue still persists after resetting onedrive, suggest following steps under uninstall , reinstall onedrive.
note: make sure sync onedrive live account avoid losing personal files or data.
