Pad lock icon next to recipient in sent mail - Microsoft Community

i have digital signature set on account , have option either digitally sign and/or encrypt each individual message. recipients, when select digitally sign (and not select encrypt), gold pad lock symbol appears next recipients name in sent items folder. however, when open message , click red ribbon (digital signature) icon in body of email, appears same messages red ribbon appears next recipient in sent folder. why gold pad lock appearing recipients , not others when not encrypting of emails?

the lock icon means content encrypted. happens when "send clear text signed message no longer working".
