Word 365/2016 Mac - Bugs? - Microsoft Community

i fired office 365 subscription.

the new word interesting, have found few minor issues, wondering if there bugs need ironed out.

1: if double-click on word file launch word, (not always) hangs. document never opens. it's easier force-quit word, re-launch word directly, , open word files within word.

2: unlike word 2011: mac, cannot open older ".doc" files , double-click on embedded picture in word file call picture editing ribbon commands. can if re-save ".doc" file ".docx" file.

3: very, old-school in how run word on machine. insist on having word show me invisibles, such text boundaries, table latticework, spaces between words, paragraph markers, graphic placeholders, etc. have previous versions of word configured show invisibles automatically, time. now, have reconfigure word show invisibles every time open new file. why?

for point 1:

does issue happen when double click specific word document or documents? , store documents? please clarify location.

for point 2:

to open .doc files in word 2016, did try open word application first , open .doc file within word?

when open .doc files in word 2016, file open in compatibility mode. if want edit embedded picture in file, need save file .docx file first, when double clicking picture, picture format tab show in right hand.

for point 3:

did try following steps?

open word applications>click word in top menu>preference>view>select options want show in document>close the view window>open new document via file>new document>check if new document shows options have configured.
