Mathematica equations written with MathType addin are not visible to - Microsoft Community

at national institute of biology (marine biology station) in slovenia using licensed version 2016 office professional 2016 plus, word 2016 mso (16.0.4498.1000), 32-bit, product id: 00339-10000-00000-aa368. few of researchers writing many mathematical expressions , have exchange our writing other researchers writing mathematical expressions (marine biologists). however, have write mutual reports , has see others wrote.

we have been using 'equation tool'. however, 'add-in', mathtype (ver 6.9b) of design science inc. (now wiris science america) enabled writing math equations in more elegant way, more 'acceptable' 'mathematical' community. 1 of key additional features mathtype offering , missing in equation toll numbering of equations (it means relational indexing). once equations numbered moved around text freely , simple command (f9) equations renumbered.

microsoft recognizes mathtype product , advertising when user uses word sentence:

clearly, microsoft ‘advertising’ use of mathtype product. however, if user (scientist, reviewer, journal editor) looking @ our .docx file, equations blurred, symbols wrong. please resolve issue embeded fonts of mathtype?

 

we trying reliable way write math formulas in microsoft word 2016 , able share them others who not have mathtype installed. trying write installed (default) tool microsoft equation 3.0 in word without mathtype.

we have been informed others did not have mathtype see mathtype equations years ago in word 2007. have learned activated option embed fonts in word 2016 means embed fonts only text in document. font embedding command in word used work for embedded objects like mathtype equations office 2007. however, not possible anymore.

this makes word 2016 less efficient product our point of view, word 2007. improve word 2016 gain capacity of word 2007 of font embedding in embedded objects?

we know in office 306 there word tab of latex. however, still uncertain numbering many equations in text proper reference them. looks word 2016 not have ability work ‘latex’.

while backwards compatibility purposes, microsoft office still included microsoft equation 3.0, scaled down version of mathtype, should note beginning several versions of office ago, microsoft stopped promoting mathtype application itself.

there possibility issue facing may caused presence of mcafee av utility.  if using utility, should upgrade a version of webadvisor that's 4.0.7.148 or later  issue described in more detail in thread in mcafee community: https://community.mcafee.com/message/473194
