Search Repair Utility is only "working" when the app is - Microsoft Community


i’ve updated high sierra , newest outlook 15.40 (171108). had search problem @ first getting old results (at least 2 weeks old, nothing newer).

i looked online , found outlook search repair utility (from https://support.office.com/en-us/article/fixes-or-workarounds-for-recent-issues-in-outlook-for-mac-54afa5e3-db38-422a-9d94-3b55330ded8e?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us ).

after used search seemed work both while running (my inbox has 47,000 emails, not mention other folders, takes long while) , when finished. however, once quit utility app, search not stopped working getting 0 results instead of old results. ran again, , again worked while utility running , after finished while still open. again, when quit app, search results went away. i’m trying third time, i’m not hopeful.

anyone know how make search results stay when i’m done utility , want quit it?
