Surface Pen will not Ink in Word 2016 - Microsoft Community

my surface pen works fine in every program except word 2016. have draw tab, nothing happens when select 'pen'. if run pen across screen selects text , no ink appears. how fix this? on surface pro 4.

no inking issues in microsoft word can typically linked pen settings of application. here few things try may resolve issue.

1. press , hold top button 5 – 7 seconds. initiate bluetooth pairing, , turn pen “on.”
2. go review tab , select start inking display ink tools , pens tab.
3. under ink tools >pens choose pen. make sure change ink color , stroke width, point color , width (0.35mm - 0.5mm) want.
4. on touch screen, begin writing or drawing.

if still you're unable use pen in word 2016, install office updates.  may refer link on how update office 2016.
