Search results incomplete with Exchange 2012 - Microsoft Community

split year old thread.

same problem here. use exchange 2012. when search on mac not find mail find when using outlook windows.

when search manually in list in outlook 2016 mac, mail in list.

thanks post. based on description, if have problem search result on outlook mac, please check following:

 

1.  rebuild office database

•  on outlook menu, click turn off office reminders.

•  quit messenger mac , microsoft office applications, including outlook.

•  open microsoft database utility.

•  you can find via location: /applications/microsoft office 2016/office/.

•  then click identity of database want rebuild, , click rebuild.

 

note: based on description, have exchange server environment. please outlook data stored on local environment. because rebuild database deletes information not sync exchange server. , if want rebuild database, must have read , write permission.

2.  if return “no result”, when search emails. may due following cause: profile name contains special characters, profile or 1 of parent folders added the privacy tab, outlook profiles folder not located correct location. there resolution you:

• go check profile name or identity name.
• go change profile name.
• verify in mac, , make sure outlook profile or identity folder or 1 of parent folders not added the privacy tab in spotlight.
