i having similar issue, related special characters. e.g. when try include accented letters (with dictionary set english main language being used), font automatically changed times new roman helvetica , can't changed back. if select single character , try change font tnr, stays in helventic. 

so, example:

são pualo appears in in tnr, ã in helvitica

mañana appears in tnr, ñ in helvetica.

etc. 

does know if compatibility bug? ms word , high sierra both date. 

as side note, since upgrading, fonts in powerpoint have taken on mind of own. 

any suggestions?

based on description, font of accented letters changed helvetica when set font times new roman. clarify situation, we'd confirm information.

 

1. problem happened before? , since when encounter problem?

 

2. please provide screenshot of symptom. if use other fonts not times new roman, have same problem?

 

3. we'd confirm version of word using, can check in word > word.

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
