Outlook 2013 search from oldest to newest after Windows 10 Fall - Microsoft Community


hello community.

i've noticed quite strange after windows installation upgraded fall creators update last week.

when perform kind of search in outlook 2013, begun displaying results oldest email newest. until , before update, search begun displaying matched emails newest oldest.

it not sorting issue. newest emails still appear on top, searching, of emails performed oldest newest.

as understand quite frustrating , time consuming wait , wait relevant email, each time perform search.

and here wierdes part: i've tried changing sort settings in view -> view settings -> sort descending ascending, each time save , close window, option not saved. reopen view settings, shows sorting performed descending again!

any feedback appreciated.

for check if issue caused fall creators update, let perform troubleshooting steps isolate issue. please follow steps below:

1. along fall creators update, let verify , check if there available update outlook.

         a. open office 2013 application, such word , create new document.
         b. click file > account (or office account if opened outlook 2013).
         c. under product information, choose update options.
         d. click enable updates if option available.
         e. choose update now manually check , install office updates.
         f. close you're date! window after office done checking , installing updates.

2. open outlook in safe mode. here's how:

         a. right-click start button (lower-left corner) in windows, , click run.
         b. in run box, type outlook /safe, , click ok.

once done, please check if search functionality work.
