Powerpoint 2013 copy and paste not working - Microsoft Community

i've looked @ articles (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-powerpoint/powerpoint-2013-copy-and-paste-problem/a8eb4ee6-f880-44bf-a0cd-e619d81ddaee) not fix problem:

when copy text 1 part of powerpoint 2013, using (ctrl-c), copies clipboard no problems - tested pasting onto notepad.

however, when paste same clipboard text onto portion of ppt2013, nothing.  however, if highlight text pasted onto notepad (see above), , copy (ctrl-c), return ppt2013, paste (ctrl-v) works.

why have copy notepad instead of copy/paste directly ppt2013, using keyboard?  installing office2013 not option, since our company software installation, , nobody else around me having same issue.

thank in advance help.

hi,

regarding "paste" format issue - common easy solve.

cause office default setting paste function. however, there other paste options if invoke correct function.

using custom quick access toolbar in office programs. there add custom buttons use or need or offer greater functionality. paste function 1 of (as find function). example of custom toolbar, here word 2010 quick access toolbar. note place below ribbon collapse ribbon.

word 2010 quick access toolbar

use expanded paste functionality, copy desired text source (ppt, text, html, whatever), select insertion point in target powerpoint slide, click drop down arrow on paste button. scroll down , select unformatted text, click ok button. clipboard content pasted using target location formatting.

here steps when using powerpoint 2007 (note 2010 has additional paste function in toolbar commands list).

1. open powerpoint , click office orb (upper left corner).
2. in dialog window opens, click powerpoint options button (near button center).

3. powerpoint options window opens.
4. click on customize in left side column.

5. click drop down arrow next choose commands click on commands in drop list.

6. scroll down command list , select (click on) second paste command - has right arrow @ right side.

7. click add >> button between 2 columns. paste button added customize quick access toolbar. optionally, select (check) show quick access toolbar below ribbon.

8. click ok button.

custom quick access toolbar appears below ribbon (here collapsed ribbon).

using paste button

here have opened powerpoint slide has red text. have selected , copied (ctrl-c) text paste 2 locations of new presentation slide.

source text (red)

target locations copied source text (bold black , light gray)

default paste behavior (ctrl-v) in powerpoint inserts red text source.

desired behavior paste source text , have inherit target slide formatting. this:
1. copy (crtl-c) text source.
2. select paste location in target slide.
3. click down arrow next paste button on quick access toolbar, select paste special... in drop list.

4. paste special dialog window opens.

5. scroll down as: list select (click on) unformatted text.
6. click ok button
7. copied (clipboard) text pasted desired target slide formatting.

done!

kind regards,
