SharePoint 2010, Multiple value selection conditions - Microsoft Community

hello there,

i needed on calculated column in sharepoint 2010 list item assigns value based on values column. example:

i have 2 columns named [hq] has existing values , [assigned to] calculated value based on values in [hq].

[hq](text type)                     [assigned to] = if(or([hq]="a", "d", "e", "g", "a")

                                                                            or([hq]="b", "b"),

                                                                            or([hq]="c", "f", "c"), " ")

a                                                 a

b                                                 b

c                                                 c

d                                                 a

e                                                  a

f                                                  c

g                                                 a

every time try, shows syntax error. have around 32 hqs , these need assigned  12 different values. there better way calculate values multiple criteria? appreciate inputs solve problem. machine runs on windows 7, , have sharepoint 2010 online.

for achieving requirement perfectly, suggest use formula above. can copy , paste directly calculated column.
