Outlook 2013 sent folder not sync with Google mail - Microsoft Community

hi,

i setup gmail (imap) using desktop version outlook 2013 running on windows 10. inbox able sync gmail , can see emails. sent folder empty. have tried deleted account , setup again still same. 

anyone has clue? kindly , hope see respond soon. thank you.

if using outlook imap account on several devices desktop, laptop , phone, can keep inbox , sent mail synced across devices. works great, however, must ensure not store sent items locally on machine. otherwise, these not sync other devices via imap.

the result outlook ignore existing sent items , deleted items folder on server , create local ones of own. when set root folder path option in account settings, outlook recognize correct folders. follow steps below on how can root mailbox:

1. go file click on account settings.
   
2. double click on imap account.
3. select more options.
4. click on advanced.
5. select option , click on root folder path.
6. usually setting inbox will trick.
7. click ok out of opened dialogs.
