I want to delete the Edge program. - Microsoft Community

i'm having trouble opening attachments outlook account.  sends message edge program , refuses open them.  can delete program , not lose anything?  want attachments open in either word, powerpoint or excel.

disabling or deleting edge not straightforward. need not disable edge. if edge getting forced in opening outlook attachments, file associations not set properly.

quick repair of office set right.

non-office apps adobe pdf etc, need set manually (if quick repair doesn't fix association, may required office files also) -

control panel >programs > make file type open in specific program. if don't see programs, choose default programs > associate file type or protocol program.

in set associations tool, select file type want change program for, choose change program.

working mac users @ business. have few issues outlook 2016 not seem have clear cut solutions can find searching community. new emails - messages sporadically go straight outbox after being sent, not send until user exits re-opens outlook, work after multiple restarts. error code see corresponding 17884 sync status - thousands of items have yet synced. sync status show proper statistics items syncing, statistics change 'server busy' , have no idea if still syncing in background or hung up. using 'sync folder' or 'send & receive' stack more items sync status window no progress made. connection window in bottom right corner - upon start up, display 'not connected'. can leave outlook open prolonged period of time , never change, if change status of outlook online offline multiple times in tools window. so far have rebuilt profile scratch within outlook tried opening outlook on multiple wifi networks tried ope
