Outlook Quicklaunch Icon Keeps Appearing - Microsoft Community

i have outlook 2016. same happens 2013. it's annoying not end of world wondering if stop it. have windows 10 , have quick launch bar enabled , make use of it. when put shortcuts it, rename them way want , reorder them way want well. seems when outlook gets update, looks see if there shortcut in quick launch bar. if there isn't, puts 1 there whether or not. however, looks name "microsoft outlook". have mine renamed outlook (i prefer it) , every few days shortcut appears called microsoft outlook.

firstly, why forced have shortcut outlook there? secondly, why can't check see if shortcut exists based on target location rather name?

here screenshot:

hi,

it’s possible system still looking default name of application. recommend remove both outlook shortcuts on quick launch bar , recreate following these steps:

  1. click start , search outlook 2016.
  2. right-click outlook 2016 , select open file location.
  3. the windows file explorer come up, right-click outlook 2016 shortcut key , select open file location once again.
  4. another windows file explorer pop-up, right-click outlook .exe files , select send to, choose desktop (create shortcut).
  5. close windows file explorer , cut new outlook shortcut on desktop you’ve created, paste in quick launch bar.

once you’ve pasted new outlook shortcut in quick launch bar, observe 24 hours , check if issue has been resolved.

let know happens after observation. otherwise, we’ll here if need further assistance.
